Technology Officer

The Council is seeking to appoint a Technology Officer within the Infrastructure Team of the Joint ICT Service. The team delivers high quality ICT Services to Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire District Council.

The Technology Officer will be responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line support to a number of key technologies and business platforms as well as delivering technical projects using the Councils project and programme management methodology.

This is a very varied and hands-on technical role, providing an interesting and exciting opportunity for the right candidate. You will be a key member of a fantastic and supportive team in which learning, and training opportunities will be provided.

Currently there is the opportunity to work intermittently from home or from our alternative offices, however this is dependent on the service needs and you will need to be able to travel to supported sites within an acceptable timeframe.

The ability to work to tight deadlines and to be organised is essential as is self-motivation and a willingness to take on new challenges in a rapidly changing technical environment. Candidates should be flexible and possess excellent communication skills.

Due to this post having administrative privileges, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Basic level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

To be successful you will need:

• Proven experience and knowledge in a technical ICT role
• Demonstrable technical problem-solving skills
• To have worked with PRINCE or AGILE project Management methodology or similar
• Demonstrable experience of providing technical support to a line of business application systems.
• Excellent communication skills
