Job Summary: Provide administrative support for all collaboration infrastructure systems within the enterprise across various telecom infrastructure hardware and software components. Serve as a technical implementer for the deployment and support of network infrastructure, works with others within the Information Systems umbrella and other departments to provide a stable and scalable network infrastructure. Responsible for technical hardware/software/cabling, bandwidth requirements, configuration planning, administration, and support of data and communications network, including facilities planning. Provide Tier 1 and 2 support and guidance within the department and affiliate entities. Document work in the form of policies, procedures, standards, and knowledge base articles. This position consists of ensuring solutions are delivered in adherence of defined standards and policy. The Telecom Administrator position is expected to lead technical projects as well as provide guidance to team member as needed to ensure quality and delivery of work. This position is expected to work both independently and with various teams across the Roper St. Francis Healthcare enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Experience: Requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) from an accredited school and 3 years of Information Technology experience on relevant equipment/systems, OR Associate Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with one year of Information Technology work experience on relevant equipment/systems. OR Bachelor’s Degree with 6 months project experience on relevant equipment/systems.

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Collaboration Applications and Automation

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Collaboration Conferencing

  • Strong knowledge of inside plant cabling

  • Working knowledge of Cisco Enterprise Wireless design and management

  • Working knowledge of Cisco UCS infrastructure components

  • Working knowledge of Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst network infrastructure

  • Healthcare knowledge/background including data privacy practices and laws

    Licensure/Certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment. An equivalent or higher-level network certification as determined by the Manager may be substituted for the CCNA.

    Knowledge/Skills: Must be fully/independently technically competent and physically capable to perform duties as listed within technical guidance of the Telecom Engineer. Should be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with a strong customer-service orientation and have a strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Must be able to read, comprehend, and put to practical use, a wide variety of technical literature and procedures, possess ability to author technical documents and create procedure manuals. Should prove to be a highly self-motivated, self-directed, with keen attention to detail with ability to conduct research into current and future technologies. Must be able to write and speak clearly to communicate effectively with users. Must impart confidence to the users and possess strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must understand networking, topology, and network management. Must respond to major incidents in accordance with department service level agreements. Must respond to and actively participate in critical situations to restore information access to users such as patients, doctors, nurses, and administrators. Must learn quickly without repeated instruction from supervisor.
