Job Description for Telecom Construction Manager
Apex Group is a leading Engineering and construction services company providing turnkey engineering construction solutions to Telecom, Cable, and Electric Utilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all fiber to the home (FTTH) outside plant construction project deliverables managing vendors, subcontractors, project superintendent, project coordinator/project engineer tasks and liaise with the design team.
- Prepare a project plan which shall include but not be limited to project objectives, scope, budget, detailed schedules and forecasts.
- Prepare labor and material estimates to meet project budgets based on design.
- Manage, prepare and track all change proposals and change order ensuring proper client and internal signoffs and communication of all scope, specifications and budget changes are communicated to effect team members.
- Oversee field work aligns with project schedules including but not limited to project documentation, daily worksheets, project plans and material demands on inventory.
- Work with the Construction Sr Manager and Project Manager to verify that all contractors’ performances are meeting forecasts.
- Review all project documentation and ensure full understanding of each project’s scope, specifications, contacts and each team members responsibilities.
- Coordinate review of as built information with Construction Manager and assure that this information is being completed and distributed in a timely manner.
- Ensure job sites and practices are adhering to Health and Safety requirements and appropriate insurance coverages are valid and all contractors have all appropriate onboarding documents.
- Coordinate the project close-out process with the client and obtain final sign off.
- Work with Operations to assure timely turn-over of projects for sales and drop crews.
- Supervise multiple supervisors and crews.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- At least 5 years field Underground Infrastructure experience is a must
- At least 5 years’ Experience in FTTH Telecom Construction.
- Proven experience working with the underground utilities, understanding the placement and routing of those types of utilities/fiber optic, fiber splicing, optical testing and cable tv pathways.
- Full comprehension of construction plans
- Ability to manage difficult customer and employee situations
- Ability to issue, monitor, and QC work in an organized, positive, safe, and efficient manner
- Knowledge of the use and operating characteristics of a variety of light and heavy equipment used in construction and maintenance
- Knowledge of the hazards incidental to maintenance and construction involved and of the safety measures to be observed
- Individuals must have a valid driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
