Summary

The Construction Manager ensures all company and industry safety, and quality procedures and best practices are implements on project sites. It is vital that the Construction Managers demonstrate professionalism, efficiency, and equality as it relates to communicating and leading crews and assignments. Construction Managers are designated field managers who spend the majority of their time in the field on sites supervising jobs to ensure crews are constructing safely, per plan, and identifying all out of scope items as well as staying within budget. The Construction Manager Reports to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities

  • On site safety manager and client liaison in all matters regarding safety on active construction sites. Attend client safety/quality meetings and delivering information to teams and staff. Inform Project Manager and Area Manager immediately following any incident or new policy produced by customer regarding Safety.
  • Communicate closely with Project Manager to determine schedule, arrange site access, creation of tickets, coordinate cutovers, acquiring building permits, and method of procedure review to ensure all logistics are handled per schedule.
  • Review all construction drawings, bid notes, project scope documentation, and schedules to ensure clarity and that scope of work, street closures, etc. are accurately depicted in preparation for upcoming projects. Perform transfer of knowledge to teams for understanding.
  • Verify Project Manager has Notice to Proceed and Purchase Order prior to scheduling jobs. Verification of hours and scope to be performed prior to construction start.
  • Perform Preconstruction, quality walks, material take offs, equipment scheduling, ensuring all is in order prior to construction start.
  • Daily schedule creation and submittal to all crews and management team.
  • Verify Daily Reports are being submitted to applicable office personnel (actual labor hours used are within budget), time is entered by all personnel, review crew time entries, and field deliverables are submitted and in compliance.
  • Performs regular surprise safety and quality site checks to minimize go-backs and safety violations.
  • While on site for last day of project, verify closeout deliverables are complete and build quality is second to none.
  • Prior to site completion, verify all field documentation has been submitted, purchase order has been redlined for true up, and quality
  • Visit sites daily providing feedback regarding:
  • Site Safety Assessments – twice per week.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are addressed and updated throughout project in preparation for hand-off to project manager for true-up submittal
  • Ensure the crews have all materials needed for the scope of work.
  • Escalation point for crews in the field requiring troubleshooting advice, and clarity of scope.
  • Be available to assist crews with site integration support and testing when necessary
  • Ensure all crews are submitting material lists ahead of time when possible, avoiding unnecessary delays in project and accrued costs.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, firing, writing-up, performing annual review, etc. of field personnel when needed.
  • Performs evaluations of employees ready for more responsibility. Regular evaluation of crews determining who needs safety, closeout, testing and other training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of Industry Experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid US driver’s license, DMV check performed prior to hiring.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out given instructions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladder and steep staircases.
  • Flexible with extended hours and some travel (%20)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay types:

Experience:

  • Telecom Construction: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Construction Project Management: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Carrier Specific (ATT, TMO, VZW, etc.): 3 years (Preferred)
