The Opportunity:
In anticipation of future project demands, WSP invites Telecom (Outside Plant) Drafting Technicians to apply for our fast-paced Brampton office – Telecommunication group. Reporting to the Outside Plant Manager, this position would be responsible for technical drafting of Outside Plant Designs and coordination with the Telecom team.
In accordance with WSP procedures and policies, is responsible for the Permit and construction drawings of Outside Plant infrastructure under the guidance of the manager of the Outside Plant department and the Technical lead, utilizing AutoCAD. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all design plans adhere to applicable standards, specifications and client requirements.
This position requires close interaction and communicate with the office Telecom Technical leads and team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of project cycles.

A day in the life:
- Completion of Permit & Construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD for Outside Plant Infrastructure
- Knowledge of general accepted Telecom construction practices to establish requirements, notes and tasks
- Comprehension and interpretation of field notes, design sketches and photograph imagery to complete technical design drawings;
- Work closely with technical leads, designers and engineers to establish workable solutions.
- Ensure all quality control and assessment procedures are achieved.
- Perform other tasks as requested by your manager

- Relevant post-secondary training programs:
- Civil Engineering
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Architectural Technologist
- Relatable Telecom Industry experience
- 5+ years of experience;
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving and multi-tasking skills;
- Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills;
- Capable of grasping new concepts easily;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to respond to changing priorities and handling multiple tasks;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; and
- Fluent in the English language, both written and oral
