Responsibilities
Installing and terminating and testing voice and data wiring equipment, telephone equipment or fiber optic cabling. Maintaining documentation of time worked and materials used. Documents records of repairs and installations using various computer-based programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Voice and Data wiring: Three years full-time work or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) installing and terminating voice and data unshielded twisted cable, a basic knowledge of building design with an understanding of horizontal distribution required, the ability to distinguish colors and a working knowledge of Category 5 and 6 standards (EIA/TIA standards) and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills are also required. Must possess a valid Utah drivers license.

Strong computer skills preferred.

Telephone Installation and Repair: Three years full-time work or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), experience working with electronic key systems, a working knowledge of Centrex services, a working knowledge of PBX systems, overhead paging systems, and ACD systems, strong computer skills on windows operating system also required. The ability to distinguish colors and a working knowledge of Category 5 and 6 standards (EIA/TIA standards) and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills are also required. Must possess a valid Utah drivers license.

Familiarity with the Service Now Trouble Ticketing System is preferred.

Fiber Optic cabling: Three years full-time work or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) installing, testing and repairing fiber optic cabling and terminations, a working knowledge and experience using all fiber optic testing equipment and all types of fiber connectors and terminations, experience in fusion splicing and strong computer skills including Excel required. The ability to distinguish colors and a working knowledge of Category 5 and 6 standards (EIA/TIA standards) and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills are also required. Must possess a valid Utah drivers license.

A working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS preferred.
