Job Description:
FIELD TECH/NETWORK OPERATIONS ENGINEER – GREATER CHICAGO

MUST HAVE: Experience with 4g or 5g Ericsson Equipment, Experience with- Nokia 7750/7250, SR1, 7250s IXRE, IXR – A HUGE PLUS!

Responsible for the proper operation of a large group of Network Elements.

Support the activation of new sites and integration of network hardware and interconnect facilities.

Other responsibilities include testing and analyzing network coverage to ensure contiguous communication and network integrity and quality; updating daily logs with site-specific information; composing clear and concise reports for system documentation; and performing activation tasks as required by Local, Regional, Area, Corporate or Regulatory agencies.

The Field Eng- is expected to be able to perform his duties with little supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled

Day to Day:

• Software programming intensive,75% of the time on site at various cell sites in greater Chicagoland
• Will do fiber optic characterizations/testing- need to be able to identify the necessary steps to cross connect fiber from one router to another at a particular cell site (example- figure out what port to plug it into aka cross-connects)
• speed tests, 911 call testing and website database activation.
• Will be using NOKIA IXRE/IXRS 7750 and 7250. project standpoint, new circuits with routers need to update and troubleshoot these before installation and configure them
