Telecom Support Technician

BlackPoint is recruiting to fill a newly created Telecom Support Technician position. This is a full-time, dayshift, 100% remote position, responsible for performing moves, adds, and changes for existing client telephony solutions and supporting current voice deployments for our clients.
Candidates must have a good understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of telecommunications and excellent communication skills in order to interact with BlackPoint team members, clients, and vendors.

Compensation

• Base compensation: $65,000 to $85,000

Responsibilities

• Perform moves, adds, and changes on Avaya solutions
• Operational support of Avaya Communications Manager or IP Office.
• Operational support of Contact Center Solutions
• Operational support of SBCs
• Operate software tools such as Wireshark to diagnose issues

Qualifications & Experience

• 1+ years operational Tier 2+ support experience on Avaya Communications Manager or IP Office.
• 3+ years operational support experience for any hosted voice solution (RingCentral, Nextiva, etc.)
• Understanding of how vLAN and QoS are configured and operate
• Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and self-motivated
• Knowledge / Experience in hosted and/or on-prem voice solutions other than Avaya, a plus
• Knowledge / Experience working with data technologies a plus
• Experience using Connectwise Manage a plus
• Avaya certifications are a plus
