Telecom Technician (Drops Crew)

A Telecom Drops Technician is a dynamic position where no 2 drops and no 2 days are the same! This is a Contractor position, where a truck and tools are supplied by you. There is consistent and regular work, with an opportunity for growth in the exciting and rewarding field of Telecom Construction!

Compensated travel all over the beautiful Okanagan is required occasionally.

Spurring and Bucket Truck Operation is an asset and preferred.

Primary responsibilities of the Fiber Drop Technician are:

  • · Cable Placement – Aerial and underground telecommunications cable installation.
  • · Customer Service – Communicating with the homeowners in a professional and courteous manner
  • · Data/photo input into our quality and compensation program

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • · Telecom construction experience
  • · Spur pole climbing experience or interest & ability to learn
  • · Experience working on 28’ ladders
  • · Experience with underground placing (trenching and cleanup)

Requirements:

  • · Class 5 BC drivers license
  • · Ability to lift 60lbs
  • · Able to perform work safely in all types of conditions – indoor and outdoor
  • · Ability to work at heights
  • · Ability to travel for projects as required
  • · Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
