You will join the Optum PacWest I&O Network and Telecom team as Telecommunication Engineer.
Our IT Telecom team supports the voice, video, and collaboration services for Optum PacWest Companies. You will be involved in supporting Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Unified Border Elements, SIP Trunking, IM Presence, Voice Gateways for Optum CA Market, and the M&A Integration, Cloud Migration projects. You will manage IT Telecommunications projects and report to the Sr. Manager of Network & Telco in I&O PacWest Region.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive multiple Telecommunications Engineering, Optum Integration, M&A and Cloud Migration initiatives and projects consisting of design and development for IP Telephony products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, testing, and integration. Provide feedback on project status, milestones, and risks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- Support data center SIP and VOIP services and proactively monitor the health of all Telecom systems located at the data centers and take appropriate action when required. Perform after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as required
- Provide specialized technical expertise in researching and resolving VOIP/Telecom/Video related problems which may involve coordination of hardware and software vendor support
- Advise department team members on procedures, techniques, and requirements to ensure maximum performance and availability of the company infrastructure. Recommend areas for improvement in both processes and systems
- Conduct implementations, conversions, and upgrades in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures within company maintenance windows, including change management procedures
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders
- Author technical documentation such as Telecom system diagrams and data center diagrams
- Work closely with vendors on implementation of products and services
- Ensure security, redundancy, disaster recovery, fault tolerance and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with UHG IT compliance requirements, HIPPA standards, and industry best practices
- Perform risk analysis to identify vulnerability issues and remediating plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal skills with the ability to create and maintain solid relationships with members of cross departmental teams and department team members

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant major such as Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information systems, etc.
- 5+ years IT experience in the field of VOIP/ IP telephony
- 5+ years of experience in Cisco UC Manager / Call Manager (CUCM)
- 5+ years of experience in Cisco Unity / Cisco Unity Connection (CUC)
- 3+ Cisco IM & Presence Server (IM&P) / Cisco Jabber
- 3+ years of experience in Cisco Contact Center UCCX
- CCNA or CCNP Voice or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Cloud VOIP Platforms

- Cisco Expressway
- Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) and SIP Trunking
- Basic Windows Server Administration
- Voice IOS Gateways with H.323, MGCP
- Cisco Unified Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST)
- Call Recording and call monitoring solutions
- Cisco UC Manager Automation
- Cisco Cloud Contact Center and Cisco Cloud Calling
- NICE CXone Contact Center
- Familiar with LAN/WAN technologies
- CCNP Voice

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
