Telecommunication Rigger – Full-time Salary

WISP is a high-speed Wireless Internet company servicing a large portion of the eastern Ontario region. We are actively seeking a full-time dedicated Rigger to help maintain our growing rural network. This is a skilled labor position, and only qualified and experienced individuals will be considered. This position will be salaried, and only experienced contractors with at least 2 years of experience in a similar field will be considered. Should you be selected for the position, you will have the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Install wireless backhauls and sector antenna’s on WISP Tower Assets.
• Construct mounting hardware from supplies to mount equipment to towers
• Run transmission cables as needed.
• Prepare materials for jobs ahead of time and work with WISP network staff to program equipment once onsite.
• Align antennas once installed
• Perform regular maintenance on WISP’s growing network infrastructure.
• Inspect and conduct routine maintenance on WISP tower assets
• Perform equipment pickups where necessary.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Mandatory Qualifications:

• At least two years of previous experience in a related rigging position.
• Experience climbing towers up to 250ft.
• A valid G license with a clean driving abstract.
• Ability to be on call for network emergencies outside regular hours
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Wireless Internet services and equipment
• Willingness to work on weekends on occasions where work can not be completed during the week and during emergencies.
