| General Description / Primary Purpose | Under the direction of a Manager or above, works within established procedures to maintains and supports the integrity of the system and application environment. Administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of systems and applications. Performs maintenance tasks, such as back-ups, recovery, file maintenance, and application optimizations. Schedules, installs, and tests software upgrades. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements. |
Essential Duties
| Job Function | * Responsible for knowledge of telecommunication, IP Camera and Duress Button systems and applications * Install and test upgrades and patches * Identify and remediate malfunctions * Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues between clients and servers * Identify, recommend, and implement performance optimizations * Configure and maintain faculty, staff and student access to managed systems and applications * Coordinates with vendors and contractors to resolve complex problems * Monitors and maintains hardware and software licensing * Assists in maintaining hardware and software inventory * Maintains system documentation * Assists faculty, staff and students with technical questions related to managed systems * Assists with client installation * Assists with hardware installation and troubleshooting * Reads and interprets technical manuals * Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions * Works with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of University students and staff * Other duties as assigned This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence. |
