Introduction
We have been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Telecommunications Administrator position. This position is a very long-term contract opportunity which is expected to be hybrid (50% on-site/50% remote) with no scheduled end date.
Summary
Our client is seeking a candidate with strong knowledge of Avaya Aura phone systems and good customer service skills for this Telecommunications Administrator position. The selected candidate will be working with customers to gather requirements and program/troubleshoot the phone system and coordinate cabling needs within buildings.
This position is responsible for providing administrative support for voice and data network communications for all client departments. A person in this classification functions as a single point of contact for all voice and data work requests and provide project management for all voice and data cabling projects.
Work is performed with independence under the general supervision of the Enterprise IT Supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.
Successful candidates will have a strong knowledge of Avaya Aura Communication Manager (CM).

Representative Duties/Skills Include:
· Strong knowledge of Avaya Communication Manager (CM)
· Handle daily trouble tickets and requests.
· Interface with customers and department managers, and coordinate with other Information Services teams (Network Team, Field Techs).
· Setting up new extensions. (Moves/adds/changes), setting up voicemail
· Softphones
· Validating billing
· Working with cabling vendors and service providers (AT&T, CenturyLink).
· Troubleshooting quality issues.
· Setting up call centers, phone trees, recording software, changing announcements and holiday tables
· Reporting tools, logging, and statistics.
· Provide after hours and on-call support (scheduled rotation with other team members).
· H.323, Digital, SIP, and analog phones
· Plans, coordinates and implements communication projects which may include software, hardware and voice data infrastructure cabling.
· Recommends, designs and implements technical solutions including call management systems, voice response applications and computer telephony integration (CTI) technology.
· Performs communication systems administration including call center applications, system announcements, automated attendants, capacity planning, internet protocol (IP) telephony and application of system patches.
· Obtains cost estimates for installations, changes and communication repairs.
· Tracks information related to service order requests, programming changes, inventory utilization, key sheets, floor plans and IP addresses.
Minimum Qualifications
*Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or other closely related field and three years’ experience supporting converged private branch exchange (PBX) and Voice Mail networks with multiple locations or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.
*Ability to program and support PBX, automatic call distribution (ACD), voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and voice messaging systems.
Preferences
· Avaya Communication Manager experience
· Avaya Call Center Technology including Avaya One-X software
· Experience with Avaya voicemail (Aura Messaging)
· Experience with Avaya IP Telephony
· Experience with Avaya Call Recording applications
· Experience working with AT&T to establish new circuits and verify billing
· Knowledge of wiring and cabling terminology
