JOB DESCRIPTION:

A lineman ground hand is responsible for supporting the aerial lineman and foreman for a given crew.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Retrieve tools and parts as needed for the specific task at hand.

Keep the truck stocked and organized of required parts.

Follow directives from lineman and foreman relative to the job task at hand.

• Pull lasher
• Retrieve parts as needed
• Learn how to load lasher with lashing wire and keep it loaded at all times.
• Keep lasher lubricated
• Inventory tools and equipment on truck and keep track of such items as
• . Ropes
• · Rollers
• · Hand lines
• · Layup sticks
• · Saws
• · Bolt cutters
• · Grips
• · Lashers
• · Ladders
• · All other tools
• Place men working signs at each end of the job site.
• Place safety cones and retrieve safety cones on job site.
• Monitor traffic flow in and around job site paying strict attention to the safety of the crew and yourself.
• Retrieve men working signs when work is completed for the day.
• Stow all tools and materials at the end of each working day.
• Keep interior of the vehicle cleaned out.
• Keep the bed of the vehicle cleaned out.
• Assist in loading and unloading trailer.
• Verify all truck and trailer lights are working.
• Verify all safety chains are attached.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must present a positive, professional image to employees, customers, and clients in all interactions.
• Must have strong communication skills and experience working with customers.
• Must have a strong working knowledge of basic hand tools including a powered drill.
• Have problem-solving skills and able to think on your feet.
• Have a general working knowledge of computers.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screen.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Exposure to varying temperatures as work is primarily outside.
• Noise levels are moderate to heavy.
• Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.
• Varying degrees of light as work may begin early morning and continue in the evenings.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to carry 60-70 1bs, to include an extension ladder.
• Must be able to work at 28 feet or higher.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift.

TRAVEL

Travel from home with multiple overnight stays is required with this position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must possess a valid Driver’s License during the term of employment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time, irregular working hours Monday thru Friday. Weekends may be required based on customers need.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
