Job Summary:
Represents various areas of the telephony function by working with the business units to understand their needs and perform the programming to adhere to requirements. Responsible for process development, production system modifications, ongoing production support, and system configuration. Mentors team members and oversees vendor partnerships, to support production incidents and enhancements.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Complete service request tickets for Cisco additions, moves and changes. Communicates difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Manages customer expectations effectively.
- Recommend and lead the technical recommendations, testing efforts and the programming of efforts involved in those recommendations.
- Work with vendors regarding voice communication peripheral equipment such as paging and music on hold. Communicates cabling standards and protocols to vendors.
- Identify telecommunications products and services that would benefit the organization by improving handling of communications or cost efficiencies.
- Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
- Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules. Manages resources in accordance with project schedule.
- Delivers informative, well-organized presentations and assists in the facilitation of team and customer meetings. Facilitates effective team interaction. Mentors those with less experience.
- Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
- Develop and manage relationships with business unit personnel that foster respect and cooperative rapport.
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of computer science, IT or telecommunications experience, and education
EXPERIENCE
- Three years’ information technology or telecommunications experience, with two years’ programming voice communication equipment, in a VoIP environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
