Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides rapid, accurate and courteous handling of telephone calls, dispatch services, paging, FAX message emergency communications.
- Inputs data into the electronic Security Report Writing system.
- Performs CCTV programming, patient calls to the nurses, alarm lines and Fire Management System operations.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Essential: Sitting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; lifting usual weight of 1/2 pound up to 2 pounds; pushing/pulling, carrying usual weight of 1/2 pound up to 3 pounds; reaching at and above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions
- Frequent: Gripping of an object, twisting body and reaching below shoulder level
- Occasional: Walking, climbing stairs
- Operates operator console, various communication equipment, computer, telephone
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Subjected to cold temperatures due to computer equipment.
- Occasionally exposed to irate telephone callers and subjected to possible verbal abuse.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- High School diploma or equivalent in education.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year of telecommunications experience.
- Experience to demonstrate ability to read, write, understand and speak English clearly.
