Basic Scope of Subcontract Work
- Will provide coverage for a newly installed telecom network, testing, repairs, and parts replacement as needed. Will also perform whatever maintenance is required in the timeline dictated by the Primary
Contractor or by the equipment failure itself.
- Will coordinate with the Primary Contractor Lead to inventory and inspect telecom gear at sites identified by the End Client and the Primary Contractor.
- Will provide coverage for the Primary Contractor Lead and is expected to learn the End Client’s tools required to substitute for the Lead’s duties when necessary.
- Will possess a basic knowledge of networking and IT cyber concepts and be able to speak to the Telecom infrastructure in the assistance of developing/designing new elements of the telecom network.
- With preapproval, will be able to work sites outside of the primary telecom network for the purposes of site inventory, cleanup, and site assessment.
- Daily support will provide statewide support for the 81 gas sites. In addition, as additional known MA sites are brought online and are accepted by the End Client as operational, coverage will include these additional
35 sites. Support is expected to be normal business hours, but occasional, off-hour support will be required due to unexpected equipment failure.
- Will participate in the DOT Drug and Alcohol program for the duration of this effort.
- Will act as a coordinator in place of the Telecom Lead during periods of absence.
- Will support in the development of processes and procedures required for managed services support of the newly installed telecom network (defined by the current 81 sites and expected 35 new sites to be added).
- Will be accompanied to the field sites by a qualified Instrumentation and Regulation (I&R)/Plant technician as needed.
- With preapproval, will provide support to Primary Contractor and the End Client in the areas owned by Gas
Control including infrastructure design, implementation, and support. Tasks will include:
- Review and create documents providing comments, markups ensuring the Gas System Operations requirements are being met. The position is multi-faceted with responsibilities that will vary dependent on project or current gas system needs.
- Participate in Gas System Operations/SCADA project meetings, providing and staying informed of status and actively supporting technical needs, as the Gas System Operations Instrumentation and
Controls subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Support the company’s Plant LNG & LPG facilities as necessary, to troubleshoot problems related to installed systems.
- Supports & drafts the development of new process and equipment procedures as assigned and needed. Helps coordinate and supervise internal and external resources necessary to ensure materials, equipment, and services are available and used to support work as necessary.
- Calibrate electronic instrumentation, verify and adjust equipment tolerances and records result on calibration checklists and within the company’s filing system.
- Must be able to record, validate and maintain records related to equipment operation/calibration as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Experience with research techniques as applied to troubleshooting systems and incident resolution
- Familiar with midi-systems, cisco network technology, Digi Terminal Server, Perle Terminal Server, RV55
- LTE radios, RV55 antennas, the DDS modems, and CSU/DSU modems
- Required to have a valid US driver’s license
DESIRED SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience working directly with field work in a utility, gas environment.
- Experience with Service Now
- Experience with ITIL Processes
- Utility Industry Experience preferred
- An understand of Cybersecurity and computer forensics

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Five years of utility field experience. Any licenses/certifications to perform the required work, if required.
WORK LOCATION
- Both field and office work required.
o Office is located in Westwood MA o Multiple field locations spread across MA and possibly CT
WORK SCHEDULE
- 40 hour work week.
- Overtime (over 40 hours) is sometimes required and may require prior approval.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour
