Telecommunications Cable Technician

Electricity North West have a fantastic opportunity to join our Operations team as a Telecoms Cable Technician.

Based in Manchester you will undertake Copper and Fibre installation and commissioning works in line with the Telecoms Delivery Team requirements.

You will also support the installation and commissioning activities across the wider programme including, Installation of data cabling systems, Installation of equipment cabinet modules, Installation of associated electrical distribution wiring under engineering Supervision.

What we are looking for:-

• Detailed knowledge of Fibre Optic access methodology, including underground & overhead fibre on tower lines
• Detailed knowledge of Fibre optic testing and commissioning
• Detailed Knowledge of Copper access methodology
• Detailed knowledge of Copper testing and commissioning
• Knowledge of Signing Lighting & Guarding – NRSWA
• Experience of working with contractors
• Knowledge of Fibre and Copper network maintenance and construction activities
• Knowledge of the requirements for working in confined spaces & gas testing
• Working at heights experience
• Good Communication skills

Qualifications

• C&G Level 2 qualification in relevant engineering subject or equivalent qualification

In return we will offer you:

Bonus earning potential of up to 10% of your base salary, 26 days holiday rising to 30 days plus bank holidays, enrolment into the company pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 14% of base salary.
