Telecom Construction Labourer

The role of the construction labourer will be to bring fibre service wires to the side of the home using a variety of way. Daily targets will be given which must reported accurately to the foreman. This job requires mild, manual, outdoor labour

Established in 2018 BRC works along side some of the largest utility companies in Canada helping to deliver fibre to the home in multiple locations right across Ontario. Responsibilities:

· Laying out fibre lines from property line to the side of the home

· Trenching fibre line, either manually by spade or with plow machine into ground a minimum of 6 inches deep

· Operating small tools and concrete saws

· Assisting in maintaining a clean jobsite adhering to all safety guidelines

· Taking pride in the way homeowners’ outdoor property is left once service wire is connected at home

· Possibly driving F150 with enclosed trailer to and from site daily

Qualifications

· 6 months of experience in construction, landscaping, or labourer role is preferred

· Basic knowledge of blueprint reading is an asset

· Must have valid Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record

· Driven to take pride in work

· Ability to safely lift up to 80 lbs

· Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

· Must be able to work 48hr work weeks Monday to Friday with opportunity for overtime

· Must have own transportation to get to yard by 6:45AM

· Must be willing to complete online criminal record check

· Must be able to speak English

· Ability to follow instructions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $28.25 per hour

  • 12 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • telecommunication: 1 year (preferred)

Expected start date: 2022-08-25
