Construction Manager
Summary:
A large, nationwide telecommunications company is seeking a Construction Manager to join the team! This individual will be responsible for the organization, direction, supervision, and coordination of construction activities on a job site. The Construction Manager is a liaison to the Project Management team, and assists with scheduling, the bidding process, subcontractors, status updates, delays, and overall communications.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with development, implementation, and enforcement of project procedures, schedules, cost controls, and reporting
- Development and coaching employee performance throughout the year to facilitate goal achievement
- Preparation and reviewing of project plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to determine project priorities and phases
- Reviewing and approving time and expenses for field crew personnel
- Providing daily direction of field activities, including establishing manpower levels, employee relations, monitoring workmanship, materials conformity, and compliance to design documents
- Requisitions and coordination of the movement of tools, materials, and other equipment in accordance with procedures
- Identification of potential changes to project scope and advising team of any associated project impacts
- Maintenance of a daily job site log
- Coordination of all construction services and activities
- Approving construction projects via conducting inspections at critical project phases
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing all safety and legal standards, procedures, and regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is preferred
- Must have 5 or more years’ experience in Construction Management
- Must possess a strong knowledge of field operations
- Current knowledge of industry regulations, trends, and technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to travel at minimum 75% – employees will work a rotation of 14 days onsite, then 4 days off
