Prepare, place, and maintain buried and aerial cable, conduit, fiber, peds, and NIDs, in accordance with service orders and or engineering designs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Read and interpret documents such as maps, staking sheets, service orders, and operating & maintenance instruction manuals.
  • Operate and efficiently interpret test equipment, including but not limited to ohmmeters and cable locaters.
  • Responsible for splicing copper and fiber in accordance with Company quality standards.
  • Remove obsolete or damage aerial, buried, and underground plant.
  • Responsible for leaving work site in a condition that reflects positively on the company and is acceptable to the property owners.
  • Operate various types of vehicles and construction equipment such as bucket trucks, trenchers, boring equipment, plow cats, backhoes, and skid steers.
  • Operate Company vehicles and equipment in a manner that will minimize repairs and promote longevity of the vehicles/equipment.
  • Record footage of conduit or cable as used.
  • Assist accounting department as requested in counting and balancing of inventory.
  • Maintain Department of Transportation records when required, such as trip reports with weight and mileage.
  • Assist the Company in any emergency service outages.
  • Obtain a comprehensive knowledge of low voltage codes such as grounding, bonding, premise wiring.
  • Maintain an Electrical Low Voltage license.
  • Keep tools and equipment cleaned, calibrated, in good working condition, and properly stored when not in use.
  • Take responsibility for the overall appearance of assigned Company vehicle, as well as insuring said vehicle operates in a manner which will minimize repairs and promote longevity.
  • Alert supervisor if assigned vehicle or work equipment is suspected to be in need of maintenance or repair.
  • Complete material charge out forms as need, and assist other on-call staff with services outages or troubles.
  • Assist other employees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by manager.*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
