Job Summary:
Director of Telecommunications Services, manages, plans, designs and implements of all aspects of the telecommunication technology. Responsible for voice circuit planning and redundancy, telecommunication architecture and infrastructure. Maintains existing telecommunications infrastructure and telecommunications services while developing roadmap for future with focus on creating high availability with a goal of achieving continuous availability of all critical infrastructure. Work collaboratively with the director of technology services for data center planning, network, and server architecture alignment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops strategic telecommunications plans, enterprise architectures and standards to ensure business/clinical goals.
  • Prioritizes telecommunications initiatives and coordinates the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technologies. Develops and maintains key components of a rolling three to five year telecommunications plan. Directs research into new and leading edge technologies.

Designs, builds, tests and implements new technologies and capabilities to meet business and clinical requirements.

  • Performs project management functions and leads diverse telecommunications teams in the provision of new services.

Provides all sustainment functions to maintain the existing telecommunications infrastructure to include break/fix, emergency services, engineering support, performance and availability monitoring, capacity and reliability analysis, provisioning and sustainment project planning and execution.

  • Develops annual capital and operating budgets for telecommunications infrastructure investments and operational objectives. Develops, tracks and controls portions of the technical services annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations.
  • Directs development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan/business impact analysis, with emphasis on highly available, efficient and productive operations.
  • Manages vendor relationships (collaborating as needed with other stakeholders) to maximize value from strategic partnerships and to efficiently deliver services in non-strategic areas.
  • Work collaboratively with IT security to ensure telecommunications security, hardware version control and appropriate patching, assuring that all systems are compliant with relevant policies and standards.

Qualified candidates would have the following:
– Ability to manage large scale IT projects
– Manage strategic planning and process improvement across multiple service areas
– Experience in development and execution of information technology strategic plans and tactical plans
– Ability to program manage and have oversight of technology implementations in new multi-site complexes
– Ability to identify project risk and control through issue management
– Experience with project updates and communication with Senior Executives
– Experience in Information technology vendor analysis and management
– Experience in development of information technology roadmaps
– Information Technology department

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55.00 – $60.00 per hour
