Job Summary
Suncoast Power is a growing commercial electrical contractor that is seeking the help of several experienced electricans to join our telecommunications team.
As a member of our team you will follow directions from the General Forman and assist in completing projects in the telecommunications industry.
Essential Functions:
Perform skilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment to include but not limited to:
- Ground work installation/building of telecommunications sites
- Install backup generator, if needed
- Perform electrical and low voltage system duties
- Ensure all electrical components are installed correctly
- Build platforms, mount cabinets, and run conduits with professional workmanship
- Perform trenching and excavating duties, as well as install underground conduit as needed
- Saw, drill, cut, and grind as needed
- Perform all cleanup tasks as assigned
- Receive and deliver materials
- Follow established safety standards at all times
- Reading and interpreting architect blueprints, circuit diagrams, and other technical documents
- Move and install heavy equipment when needed
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Thread wire or cable through ducts or conduits
- Install and connect various types of light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, and horn strobes within a commercial environment
- Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems

Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring trade is required
- Telecommunications experience is a plus
- Basic mechanicl knowledge is a plus
- Ability to follow all verbal and written instructions in English. Bi-lingual is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, or other documents
- Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in the English language at an 8th-grade level

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This job operates in a construction job site environment and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions or inside conditions
- While performing this job’s duties, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
- Often exposed to loud sounds and noise levels as well as very bright or inadequate lighting conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
- Regular exposure to dirt, hazardous equipment, wiring, and underground and/or elevated heights
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, lifting, and climbing throughout the day
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations
- The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds
- Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods
Position type, expected hours and travel:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours vary but equate to 40 hours per week.
- Primarily local travel is required throughout Southwest Florida. Some out of area and/or overnight travel may be expected.
- Requires the ability to report to job sites throughout Florida
- May be requested to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends
