Telecommunications Engineer

Office of Information Technology

This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Telecommunications Engineer with daily responsibilities for system maintenance. Serve as back- up to senior Telecommunications Engineer for system maintenance, engineering, design, administration and maintenance of University VoIP telephony system. This must be in a manner consistent with providing reliable, uninterrupted service. This position will assist with vendors in addition to providing consulting services and technical support in areas of communications technology. The Telecommunications Engineer will share the on-call schedule 24 hours/day for response to system alarms.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

•  Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2-3 years of IT experience including administration, operations and maintenance of telephony systems

• Experience with work order and ticketing systems
