Telecommunications Engineer

Description:

Experienced and skilled in managing modern Avaya Aura Enterprise telephony systems. This candidate should have a deep understanding of Voice-over-IP technology and a deep understanding of IP Switching and Routing. Ability to program phones (stations) and users in the Avaya system and understands the configurations; ability to build and program Contact Centers and Agents; ability to program ACD menus; ability to troubleshoot various call quality issues. It would be a plus but not a requirement if the candidate also had experience or familiarity with Nortel CS1000 phone systems as we still have 3 of those in our environment that we are needing to get everyone off of and moved over to the new Avaya Aura phone system.

• Ensure that all phases of telecom support, including installations, upgrades, software, hardware, operating systems, and operating system configuration issues, are properly coordinated, monitored, tracked, and resolved

• Prioritize, diagnose, and troubleshoot reported problems with onsite and remote telecom equipment
• Install, configure, upgrade and support complex or net-new telecom equipment including but not limited to analog phones, IP phones, fax machines, mobile phones, pagers and PA systems
• Perform complex telecom moves, adds, and changes (MAC work) for end users
• Perform complex hardware and software maintenance, such as upgrades, moving systems, and documenting changes and managing mobile devices
• Manage maintenance cross connect wiring
• Make software changes to digital switches and adjustments on telephony equipment and systems for maximum operating efficiency
• Manage equipment PAR levels and ordering and receiving of new equipment
