Telecommunications (OSP) Engineer
This position provides engineering and project management of Commercial and Residential Outside Plant (OSP) Projects.
Duties and responsibilities
The Telecommunications Engineer designs and manages outside and inside plant projects.
- Prepares logistics of commercial and residential outside plant project construction.
- Creates staking sheets/construction drawings
- Prepares applications for, and secures permits and easements
- Working with customers, determines the design of a drop
- Tabulation of materials
- Coordination with other groups, both internal and external, on assigned projects
- Records Management
- Helps ensure maps and records are up to date with any changes in BLC’s, FDA’s, and other upgrades
- As needed, helps provide maps and information to management
- Participate in aspects of strategic planning processes as assigned
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal government entities on projects as necessary (road construction projects, permits, mapping, etc)
- Special projects (State and Federal mapping obligations, internal mapping and informational needs, etc)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current driver’s license
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field, PE strongly preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Google Earth
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preference will be given to those with the following:
- Experience in Road Design, Utility Coordination, Surveying
- Experience with telecommunications and/or related utilities
- Experience with drafting, mapping, and GIS platforms
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
