Telecommunications Engineer

First Consulting Inc. is a full-service software development consulting firm that supports clients throughout the country. Starting 25 years ago, we’ve grown to a team of 80 consultants who work on projects that affect our everyday lives!

We currently have the potential to take on a project for the US Merit Systems Protection Board. You will work with a team of systems admins and network engineers to improve communications within the organization. This will be considered a long-term project, with an initial duration of 1 year and an option to extend an additional 6 months. The project has an estimated start date of February 2023.

Please note, that due to the nature of this role, we cannot guarantee employment after it’s completion. That being said, we are open to offering W2 employment (with full benefits), or 1099, whichever suits you best!

Shift: Standard office hours of 8am to 5pm

Pay: $85,000 and up, we are open to discussing!

Work type: This is a hybrid position.

Citizenship: Because this is a federal contract, candidates MUST be a US Citizen.

Backround Profile:

• A minimum of five years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes:
• Designing, engineering, and troubleshooting phone systems
• Coordinating phone system troubleshooting and modification efforts with multiple carriers, vendors, and teams
• Coordinates project planning and tasks with appropriate carriers, vendors and teams
• Familiarity with POTS, Fax Lines, VOIP, and Centrex services
• Familiarity with IPC ShoreTel
• Familiarity with commonly used softphone products
• Familiarity with commonly used web video conferencing products
• Minimum Education: An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline is required.
• With a Bachelor’s degree (in the fields described above): four years’ experience of which at least two years must be specialized.
• With eight years’ experience of which at least six years are specialized, a degree is not required.
