Position: Telecommunication Engineer

Position Location: (REMOTE) Engineer needed to support the design and troubleshooting of LAN, WAN, MPLS in Branch, Campus and Data Center environments.

Position Summary:

To provide high quality technology solutions in support of our customers, which can include both multi-departmental unified and non-unified organizations. Engineers will train under general directions but are expected to be self-sustaining and self-motivated. They will assist to design, troubleshoot, support the installation and testing of network infrastructure systems including, but not limited to: intercommunication systems, telephone VoIP systems, PBX, voice and data-switching systems, switches, routers, firewalls, RTUs, SCADA control systems, fiber optics, remote signal and remotely controlled equipment, power systems including UPS and DC power.

Telecommunication Engineer will design, develop and troubleshoot from electronic schematics, both CAD and Visio, both with and without assistance. The Telecommunication Engineer will support the development of Site Survey requirements specific to each project. This position is a remote service position. However, individuals may be asked to travel throughout our service territory with overnight stays as required to perform on-site surveys as needed. Engineers will have support of local Field Electricians and Technicians who can perform required site surveys as needed once initial survey requirements are set. Travel expenses are reimbursed. Job Responsibilities

Engineers are requested to have the following basic skills:

  • Design solutions, lead implementation and test complex IT networks following industry standards and client specific design requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues to ensure acceptable Quality of Service.
  • Review and revise existing telecom network drawings with envisioned design.
  • Support installation of complex network, multi-phase systems composed of IT infrastructure and critical client compute infrastructure.
  • Provide technical review of system configurations to ensure viability of system performance
  • Lead and direct a diverse team of internal and client installation resources.
  • Responsible for successful project completion
  • Deliver required results with high levels of customer satisfaction, both internal and external.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current CCNP (or equivalent) is required
  • Extensive knowledge of information system technologies as reflected in formal Microsoft or Cisco certifications.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices around high voltage equipment and construction/industrial environments.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) i.e. boots, Arc Rated clothing.
  • Computer literacy and demonstrated work experience/knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent customer service/people skills are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Engineering
  • 5+ years of Telecommunications Engineering experience
  • Leadership experience

  • SCADA & substation experience
  • Technical training background
  • Experience with both AC and DC powered installations

Salary

$100K-$120K annually

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
