Job Purpose
This role manages data such as voice, video, calls, and text over different modes of communication. This role supports the design & installation of telecommunications equipment and ensures that data transmitted over wired or wireless communication is high-quality. This role assists with developing and documenting standards for the telecommunication system and provides technical advice/guidance on telecommunication systems.

Assists with the planning, design, and implementation of internal telecommunication networks/systems, which includes but is not limited to; voice, data, and video communication systems.

Supports maintaining high levels of telecommunication security and business continuity for the telecommunications systems. Assists with automation of tasks and monitoring of their effectiveness.

Analyzes the needs of the organization and translates requirements into detailed technical specifications. Conducts cost and traffic analysis to determine the best use of resources. Monitors and analyzes system traffic and prepares reports.

Performs maintenance, installations, upgrades, and other technical duties related to the operation of telecommunications systems. Assigns extensions and voice mail numbers and maintains a directory/database of telephone and fax numbers.

Serves as a liaison with internal departments, vendors and other third-party providers. Resolves issues other tiers of support have escalated/transferred.

Stays knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices. Ensures compliance with telecommunications engineering standards and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Proven experience with software that is related to telecommunications systems.
- Hands on experience in PC operating systems and network handling.
- Good technical understanding of network hardware, Internet standards, and protocols.
- Ability to format/construct Cisco applications (i.e. – Cisco Call Manager/CUCM, Unity Connection, SRST, Gateways, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred
- Professional Certification (CCNA, CCNP)
