Assists in managing medium to large telecommunications projects. Collaborates to create telecommunication platforms and associated software specifications and configurations. Uses telephone systems and ancillary sub-systems to establish and provide effective, enduring and economical telecommunication business solutions throughout the enterprise and geographic service areas. Provides support and consultation for voice switch, storage and transport applications.
“Remote Work in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada desirable” – This position is a work from home opportunity, preferably in the state of Ohio, Florida, or Nevada. Other states will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Interprets business needs and determine appropriate telecom equipment and/or applications to fulfill those needs.
- Provides, outlines and documents effective and economical solutions to telecommunication business requirements as constrained by governing budgets and regulatory guidelines.
- Manages medium to large project utilizing defined Project management methodologies while coordinating efforts of telecommunication project participants.
- Assists in providing for resources, installation and supervision of projects making telecommunication solutions operational.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications with five years practical telecommunications experience. OR equivalent – eight years practical experience in the telecommunications industry.
Certifications:
- Completed various manufacturer certifications preferred or equivalent experience.
For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date.
Complexity of Work:
- Ability to accurately recognize and correctly identify fault and failure cause and effect and to assist in the rapid resolution of such faults and failures.
- Requires current telecom product and application knowledge.
- Requires strong communication, interpersonal and client service skills.
- Requires supportive leadership in stressful environments.
- Professional appearance and appropriate ‘business-casual’ to ‘formal’ business attire required.
- Pleasant professional demeanor expected during stressful situations.
Work Experience:
- Healthcare and IT experience highly preferred on platforms, technologies (TDM or VOIP), networking / interconnect requirements, telephony infrastructure and applications deployed throughout the Cleveland Clinic enterprise.
- Required experience on at least one of the following: basic system administration; LEC order processing; call center applications; voice mail applications; customer database collection / build; vendor management / quote evaluation; project management; unified messaging, PBX configuration / installation, voice contingency planning; or other applications specific to the enterprise.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
