ADP Resources LLC is a specialized consulting and design firm based in Dallas, Oregon. We offer outside plant engineering, CAD/GIS design services, permit services and personnel services for customers and the telecommunication industry.
We have an immediate need and are looking to add a Field Technician to our OSP Department. We have one current vacancy and are creating a list for upcoming positions.
What you will do:
This position will locate, sketch and document detailed information from cables, poles, ground structures, terminals, manholes, etc. and will complete administrative tasks relating to the processing of field data and submission of pole permits for projects.
Minimum Requirements:
– High school diploma or GED
– Minimum eighteen (18) years of age
– Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to drive company vehicle multiple days per week
– One year of full-time experience in the telecommunication industry – (Outside Plant technician, line or equipment installers, fiber splicer, cable installer, etc.)
– Ability to solve basic mathematical problems and make correct measurements and math calculations
– Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)
– Ability to operate a smart phone and use features and applications related to the position
– Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time. May be asked to work out of state occasionally, (per-diem and accommodations provided by the employer)
– Requires a varying schedule to meet the needs of the client, overtime and occasional evening work may be required.
Beneficial knowledge areas include:
Experience or familiarity within telecommunication construction, or aerial or underground utilities; Knowledge and experience working with (Fiber, Copper and Coax); Ability to read and understanding blueprints and drawings; Knowledge of NESC requirements; Experience in outside plant or mapping operations for fiber optic networks; or Experience interacting with landowners, engineering, zoning, or construction departments.
The ideal candidate(s) will be self-motivated; able to work independent of daily supervision; detailed, organized with the ability to follow-through; a communicator with skills, (verbal and listening); able to multi-task and change directives quickly and willing to learn and become self-reliant.
Employer notes:
Employment is contingent upon successful outcome of a DMV records check, background criminal history check and 5-panel drug screening. Once these are recieved, if acceptable, a Company vehicle will be assigned to the employee to utilize for work purposes.
A basic math measurements skills test will be part of the interview process.
Working conditions:
Work requires: the ability to intermittently walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach while performing duties in all types of weather; Walking for two (2) or more miles per day carrying equipment; The ability to sit for long periods and drive up to 50% of the time; and the Ability to lift and maneuver up to (50) fifty pounds occasionally.
