Seeking experienced full-time Telecommunications foreman.
Foreman Job Duties
The Foreman responsibilities will be to focus on our project installations, which includes low voltage cabling, termination of cabling; installing networking equipment, security cameras, and Wireless Access Points. Work will primarily be on customer premises. Successful candidates will possess the following: ability to execute highly detailed work, take initiative to see implementation from start to finish on all project aspects and phases. The Foreman will perform skilled infrastructure/structured cabling work in the installation, service and maintenance, repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling and other various low voltage cabling systems.
Daily Job Duties May Include
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6 cabling
- Build pathways for cabling (cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks)
- Build telecommunications and equipment rooms (equipment racks, ladder rack, grounding, etc.)
- Label work station outlets
- Work on ladders/lifts as needed
- Troubleshoot existing cabling
- Set up and use industry standard test equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner
- Maintain consistent communication with project management
- Maintain safe working habits among crew
Job Requirements
- Must have 3 years of telecom experience
- BICSI Technician preferred
- Must have necessary hand tools
- Must pass government background check
- Must have valid drivers license
- Must be proficient with power tools
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (Vocational/Technical/Business School strongly preferred.)
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to work varying work schedules (nights and weekends)
- Must be able to read, understand, and implement project blueprints and specifications
- Must be able to understand a full project Scope of Work
- Must be able to track materials received and used
- Must have smartphone for time keeping and project information applications
- Must be able to install, terminate, and test copper and fiber-optic cables
- Must have a full comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of telecom, data, security & wireless systems
- Must understand and be able to produce valid schedules and effectively utilize provided manpower to meet project schedules
- Must be able to effectively communication with management
