Telecommunications Lineman

POSITION PURPOSE: Perform telecommunication lineman tasks for new or existing applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision
• Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations
• Safely operate and maintain company vehicle
• Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions
• Promote additional services available to our customers and potential customers
• Detailed record keeping, complete all required documentation in timely manner
• Operate hand tools and power tools in a safe manner
• Ability to dig trenches, climb poles, hang drops, install poles, etc.
• Sets out traffic cones and signs to establish a safe work zone
• Follows established safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to roadway hazards
• Alerts other employees or supervisor immediately of any apparent or developing hazards. Take appropriate action in the event of a work site accident or incident
• Climb up to 50 ft, install or repair equipment in a variety of environments
• Bucket truck operation
• Able to read prints and other engineering documentation
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Mechanically inclined and detail oriented

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Computer skills: use of PC and learn applications
• Clean driving record and valid CDL.
• Self motivated, ability to work independently or in a team
• Professional appearance, customer service oriented
• Willing to work after business hours on-call

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Able to meet physical demands with reasonable accommodations if necessary.

Pay: From $23.80 per hour
