Telecommunications Lineman

Telecommunications Lineman is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining poles, cables, and conduits for cables. The position also involves the running of fiber optic cable in the telecommunications space, both aerial and in underground infrastructure, such as manholes and other duties as assigned. Telecommunications Lineman is responsible for maintaining the safety of the crew by providing direction regarding procedures, road safety, manhole safety and general on-site project oversight. Telecommunications Lineman is also responsible for the daily record keeping (Fiber route details, slack locations, splice locations, material inventory, DOT Vehicle Inspections, Tailboards, etc.)

• 1-3 years telecommunications experience preferred, but not required

• Exceptional time-management and attention to detail to complete all paperwork accurately andon-time.

• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds

• Ability to work in all weather conditions, year round

• Ability to work in confined spaces/at heights

• Ability to work an on-call schedule rotation as well asdays/nights/overnights/weekends/holidays/overtime, as needed

• Ability to drive and operate a bucket truck with trailer.

• Valid driver’s license * High School Diploma or equivalency

• Ability to able to read maps (design), able to run assist wheel and figure 8 fiber

• Can successfully climb poles and be productive

• Build strand, lash cable and fiber and be able to handle basic pole transfers

• Assemble stock I.E. snow shoes, bands

• Must be able to load a lasher

• Ability to be handle crew paperwork ie) production for the day and documentation

• Familiar with, and understand the use of, all tools and stock

• Stock truck with stock for the day’s job assignment

• Check oil and do VIR before every shift

• Responsible for general organization of truck and cleanliness of truck both in and out

• Accountable for the advancement and training of anyone on the levels below them

• Conscientious regarding the safety of him/herself at times as well as the safety of every othercrew member or individual on the job site * Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

License/Certification:

• Driver’s License (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 25% (Preferred)
