Telecommunications Network Voice Engineer

RESPONSIBILITES

• Server support (File servers, Exchange, DNS, etc. ), Active Directory.
• Basic understanding of Enterprise storage, i.e., SAN, LUNS, Fibre, NAS/NFS, DAS, HBA, disk types.
• Installing and Managing Cisco Call manager and Cisco IAD.
• Designing, Installing and Managing Inhouse Unix based phone system.
• Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 network support for complex network cases.
• Establish, and enforce best practice processes for network planning, configurations, monitoring, patch management, and security
• Implement and develop a plan to achieve high availability and reliability within the core network.
• Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training, and written documentation.
• Class 4/5 Softswitch configuration, support and maintenance.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment, routers, switches, IADs, etc.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Field Technicians.
• 24/7 On call support when required.
• Ability to work remotely when required.
• Travel to customer sites or downtown Chicago Data Center may be required.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS + REQUIREMENTS

• 2 to 3 years of experience in networking.
• 3+ years as a Systems Administrator working in a Linux (Unix) environment and SAN/NAS technologies
• Experience needed with Cisco Routers and Switches, Fortinet, ASA, RADIUS/TACACS, QOS, VPN, IP MULTICAST, SIP, VOIP.
• Subject Matter Expert in IP routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IP MULTICAST, MPLS.
• Experience in working with Cisco/Ubiquiti Wireless controller and access point.
• Experience with RedHat / CentOS / Debian
• CEPH , Proxmox , Infiniband Grid Director, F5 load balancer
• Experience working with Co-Location providers to manage bandwidth procurement and installation
• Willingness to take on-call responsibilities that will be shared amongst the Network group personnel.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedure within the telecom arena.
• CCNA certification or equivalent is desired
• Knowledge and good understanding and networking
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
