The City of Paris Police Department is accepting applications for full time Telecommunications Operator. Communications personnel work shift based on seniority which is bid bi-annually. Responsibilities include but not limited to: answering emergent and non-emergent calls from the public, a well as 911, and dispatching those calls to the officers. Monitoring Paris Police Department and EMS radio channels, entering and maintaining department dispatch logs, reports, citations, etc. Telecommunicators should have the ability to exercise sound judgement, remain calm under pressure, make decisions without direct supervision, posses excellent verbal skills when dealing with the general public, be able to organize while handling multiple tasks, and convey proficient written skills.
