What You Will Do

The Recharge and Business Operation Team under the Network Infrastructure and Engineering Telecommunication Services (NIE-TS) Group is seeking an energetic and customer-focused telecommunications professional. The selected candidate will support many of the laboratory’s enterprise I&T services including cellular communication. This is a vital part of ensuring the laboratories success.

NIE-TS provides telecommunication technologies and services enabling science, research programs, and daily operations at LANL. The group provides the entire Laboratory with voice, wireless, data, and video communication services. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and collaborating with important telecommunication partners. This includes working closely with vendors, technical staff, and the LANL procurement system in a challenging and evolving environment.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of cellular and mobile device technologies, systems, and billing.
• Experience working closely with customers and partners to define requirements and developing solutions.
• Ability to network effectively with other administrators and key contacts outside own area of expertise, both internal and external to the organization.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with COMIT and ORACLE business systems.

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with the LANL procurement system.
• Experience working with large telecommunication companies.
• Experience with 3rd party financial audits.

Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM with the flexibility for the selected candidate to work from a location other than the primary location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Remote is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 – Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

• Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
