Telecommunications Resident Engineer

Our employees enjoy the efficiency and team environment of a smaller, more adaptable, privately owned company. We are looking for a full-time Resident Engineer, with a telecommunications emphasis. The successful candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

The Telecommunications Resident Engineer works in the Engineering Department to assist with designing and managing outside plant projects.

• Implements and reviews outside plant construction projects
• Performs physical survey of the project area
• Draws and revises plans for permit requirements and construction work
• Works with contractors and company construction crew to ensure project is being completed correctly, in a timely manner, and on budget
• Tabulation of materials
• Coordination with other groups, both internal and external, on assigned projects

• Obtains permits and easements
• Contacts property owners
• Negotiates easements
• Works with government entities
• Gathers data through GPS, AutoCad, Mapcom, etc.

• Works with customers as necessary to ensure homes and businesses are prepared and ready for requested services
• Maps facilities to ensure accurate recording of plant facilities

Qualifications

• Current driver’s license
• 1-2 years engineering experience
• 3-5 years project management experience
• Associate’s degree in Drafting or Engineering, or equivalent, preferred
• 1+ years’ experience with AutoCAD, Google Earth
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preference will be given to those with the following:

• Experience in Road Design, Utility Coordination, Surveying
• Experience with telecommunications and/or related utilities
• Experience with drafting, mapping, and GIS platforms

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kamas, UT 84036: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Project Management: 3 years (Preferred)
• Telecommunications: 3 years (Preferred)
