Telecommunications Sales Representative

Rhode Island Telephone is seeking an experienced telecommunications sales representative. Position is responsible for interacting with Rhode Island Telephone customers professionally and courteously, remotely or in person to review and discuss service requirements. Persons in this position will be expected to: evaluate customers’ service needs in addition to recognizing and suggesting additional/alternative services as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

· Have an in-depth understanding of Rhode Island Telephone products and services to be able to present telecommunications materials to customers and prospects.

· Sell VoIP solutions for corporate technology and communications systems.

· Research and prospect potential customers and build market position by developing, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

· Visit businesses to evaluate needs.

· Develop relationships and close leads with small and medium sized business throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

· Reach agreed upon monthly sales goals.

· Complete expense and sales reports.

· Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

· Maintain customer communication and act as a reliable and professional representative of Rhode Island Telephone.

· Keep abreast of technology trends.

Qualifications:

· Some experience in sales, especially telephony or IT, is required.

· High school or technical degree is preferred.

· Familiarity with CRM platforms.

· Passion for technology and telecommunications trends.

· Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to self-manage.

· Problem solver with strong negotiation skills.

· Deadline and detail oriented.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
