Acara Solutions is looking for Telecommunications Special Construction Project Manager for our Client located in Melbourne, FL
- Manages telecommunications special construction projects resulting from customer requests for quote (RFP’s) or telecommunication access solution orders that result in non-recurring construction scope or cost
- Builds and maintains relationships with carrier POC’s responsible for implementing construction projects
- Maintains all electronic data and critical project documentation and as-built
- Creates and provides metrics/performance data and for use in program management reviews
- Schedules project kickoff meeting with all parties responsible for implementation
- Provides daily support to implementation team and ensures vendors are communicating effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
Pay and Benefits:
- The Salary for this position is $53.88 per hour (Max Pay rate).
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- Minimum of 10 years’ Experience in telecommunications engineering design
- Minimum of 10 years’ Experience in civil construction management
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Civil or Telecommunications Engineering Technology or Information Systems with Network Focus
- Minimum of 3 years’ Experience in project management or people management experience
- Understanding of Telecommunications Carrier LEC/CLEC & IXC connectivity and infrastructure
- Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes
- knowledge of carrier ordering systems
- Knowledge of Transport/Access equipment installation, test & turn up including new installs, additions, removals, provisioning and turn up of systems
- Knowledge of Telecommunications support systems (Access Cabling infrastructure, DC Power plants/Battery systems) including installation, test & turn up, additions, replacements and removals
- Knowledge of civil engineering projects including public right of way permitting
- Attention to detail
- Background in civil construction (understanding construction drawings)
- Background in telecomm with a subset in construction
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Competent soft or people management skills
- General budget or cost management
- Ability to influence without having direct or indirect organizational control
- Proficient computer and software utilization skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point)
- Advanced knowledge of civil construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of civil telecommunications specific products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
