Telecommunications Specialist

Pitkin County is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our excellent team in Basalt, Colorado. Our team designs, builds and maintains remote mountain top communication facilities and leads the Pitkin County Broadband Initiative to increase the availability of fiber internet and wireless broadband services. Our team ensures that the Pitkin County 911 dispatch center, law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, search & rescue and other public safety partners have the communications infrastructure needed to respond to any emergency. To support these systems, the Telecommunication Specialist serves as a technical lead for networks, microwave, RF, voice, broadband and other communication systems. The position leads planning, functional, and technical designs, and implementation and maintenance of telecommunication networks. The position oversees day-to-day operations and works closely with customers and stakeholders to provide advanced technical assistance and troubleshooting.
