Project Description: Under supervision, assist Principal Engineer, Project Engineer and Project Administrators on capital projects including:

  • C-40236 – Heat Recovery Replacement at Queens Village
  • C-40688 – Fire Alarm & Methane Detection Replacement at College Point Phase 2
  • C-40282 – Four Elevators at MJQ and Kingsbridge
  • SF07-6350 – Rooftop HVAC: East New York Depot

Contract Duration: 52 weeks

Education Qualifications Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related communications engineering field from an accredited college preferred.

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience commensurate with a combination of the education and experience indicated above

Special Skills/Training Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of design/construction experience for a large and/or complex project preferred
  • CCTV and Telephony candidate: Has previously created design documents for indoor, outdoor, and elevator CCTV systems, video monitoring consoles, video recording equipment. Has previously created design documents for the voice telecommunication systems (analog, IP) for various transit facilities, elevators, transit dispatcher controls centers. Has previously reviewed consultant design, construction and commissioning of IP and analog telephony system.
  • Network candidate: Has previously created design documents for network communications systems, including Ethernet based local area network, IP based routed network, wide area network interconnections, WiFi access point design. Has previously reviewed consultant design, construction and commissioning of network communications system. Network candidate: CCNA/CCNP desired
  • Microstation, BIM, MS Office, and Visio.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Description of Work: Under directions of a Project Engineer/Administrator, the incumbent may serve as a design team leader on a project and perform work on the following activities:

  • Conduct trips to a field for survey and/or monitoring of projects. o Provide computer assisted drafting & design services.
  • Prepare contract documents such as design drawings, specifications, calculations, addendums, meeting minutes, and presentations.
  • Review, comment and disposition contract documents such as design drawings, specifications, calculations, RFIs, RFPs, shop drawings, cutsheets, procedures, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate with multiple design disciplines (such as mechanical, I&C, system safety), design consultants, various operating departments, and outside agencies.
  • Participate in inspections and witness tests to ensure that contract requirements are met.
  • Ensure and enforce adherence to Quality Assurance and Safety protocols.
  • Provide support for a variety of administrative or project related procedures.

Pay: $94,753.00 per year
