We specialize in enabling complex communication networks that are critical to the operations of the Department of Defense, Civilian Government, and Commercial markets. Currently, we are seeking a Telecommunications Specialist.
This position supports the U.S. Army Project Manager Tactical Network (PM TN) Global Field Service Representative (FSR) Support Services program. The program provides FSR support of communications for the Government primarily for operability and sustainment of the Tactical and Strategic antenna system such as the Deployable Ku Earth Terminal (DKET), Mobile DKET, Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR)/Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point (SNAP), United States Marine Corps (USMC) Support Wide Area Network (SWAN) and Commercialization efforts, Micro Very Small Aperture Terminal (mVSAT), VSAT, Inflatable Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Terminal (ISA) CJNCC NETOPS Multinational Information Sharing (MNIS) Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Coalition Partner Network-X (CPN-X); and Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF)-OIR AO-wide Network, but are not limited to only these terminals and support.
The Telecommunications Specialist performs a wide range of activities associated with the day-to-day operations and maintenance support for various strategic SATCOM equipment fielded.
Responsibilities:
- Perform network design and evaluation, circuit planning, and network operations support to ensure the availability of a network.
- Provide critical RF and IP network engineering knowledge of all connectivity into and out of a theater, to include, reach back connectivity to Regional Hub Nodes and redistribution of services (RF, IP, and Fiber) within the theater.
- Provide in theater capabilities that are required to ensure that not only Voice over the SIPR (VOSIP), but all service connectivity is maintained.
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve network outages.
- Provide quality assurance of installation to terminals and oversee all testing for validation of terminal for operations.
- Provide oversight of the satellite transmission plans, bandwidth usage and optimization, and IP network configurations as necessary to ensure the best possible service to the end customer.
- Provide other key facets of on-site technical support to include conducting systems testing (e.g. Noise Figure Measurements, Phase Noise), technical guidance, network setup with routers, switches, and IP accelerators, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), VoIP switched infrastructure, Call Manager configuration, system troubleshooting, establishing efficient procedures to resolve trouble tickets, and coordinating the deployment of software release and equipment training. Tasks may also include installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the RF/satellite, IP network, and fiber distribution systems.
- Functions as a key support to Army Communications Staff organizations tasked to manage the network.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship
- US DOD Secret Clearance
- A valid current US Passport
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of communications electronic systems and equipment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating in a tactical environment operating/maintaining antenna controllers, SSPA, LNA/LNB, Up and Down Converters, Fiber Optic/Coax/Ethernet Cable, Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) modems (satellite modems).
- Must possess experience and skill with commercial and military satellite acquisition procedures and commercial TDMA/DAMA modems.
- Associate degree or equivalent Certification.
- Seven (7) years of recent related specialized experience.
- Eleven (11) years of recent related specialized experience, in lieu of degree/certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
