Telecommunications Specialist

Title: Telecommunications/ Network Specialist (RF/Smart Grid)
Available Locations: New Albany, OH or Tulsa, OK (must work onsite in client office 2x/week)
Type: 12-month contract with possible extension and/or conversion to full-time

This position participates in the design, installation, configuration, and performance analysis of our client’s intermediate and enterprise wireless/wired telecommunications networks and systems. The Network Consultant should possess an intermediate understanding of communications technologies and demonstrates the ability to perform on routine tasks. Performs project management duties on routine assignments independently. Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves network problems of moderate complexity.

Minimum Requirements:

*Will consider recent college grads (with BSEE or BSEET degree preferred) through Senior Level candidates*

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, or telecommunications or equivalent relevant work experience (4+ years)

Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver’s license
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Cisco CCNA certifications preferred

Desired Skills & Experience: (Combination of skills below is a bonus, however manager will consider new grads and/or entry to junior level candidates and will provide training.)

• RF System Engineering and Deployment, including: radio systems (private and public) LTE, meshing networks, point-to-multipoint Smart Grid networks, DA, VVO, AMI
• Previous experience using RF propagation modeling to engineer wireless networks and coverage areas
• Experience designing and engineering wireless networks
• Ability to procure parts and equipment, as needed
• Network/IP based experienced (networks/devices)
• Proficient PC Skills, including: database, graphics, spreadsheet, word processing, and email
• Continuous improvement of existing processes/procedures to deliver the best engineering solutions possible.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $31.59 – $55.00 per hour
