JOB SUMMARY
Oversee the daily operations the County telecommunications network and equipment, including PBX, Security, Voice Messaging services and network infrastructure, act as a Team Lead, and assist in the coordination of projects and tasks, including changes to systems and infrastructure under general supervision.

TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain the County telecommunications network and equipment, including telephone, fax, camera, copper and fiber line, and LAN/WAN/phone connections throughout Pinal County’s IT infrastructure.
- Act as a Team Lead and assist in the coordination of projects and tasks, including changes to systems and infrastructure and assist in the design, implementation, and installation of voice/data and AVS converged networks.
- Oversee daily operations of voice applications and servers, review traffic and call data record (CDR) for system development and analysis and provide mid-level support for all telecommunications equipment and system programming.
- Oversee and maintain system operations of PBX, security, enterprise voice messaging, and network infrastructure.
- Support, repair, and replace voice network services and troubleshoot, test, and repair or replace PBX systems, security systems, voice and data circuits, OPX lines, 1FB’s lines, and DS3’s.
- Assist in the engineering, design, configuration, and implementation of voice, security, and network infrastructure.
- Provide 2nd level on-call support for voice, security and data systems and work closely with telecom techs to lead technical support, quality assurance, and training.
- Collect and accumulate data for Telecommunications work group, including system up-time, monthly work order reports, and projects completed.
- Perform complex PBX programming and installation.
- Document work completed and maintain records, notify manager and other technicians of unusual problems or problem trends in order to facilitate continued improvement of telecommunications services.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field.
- Four (4) years of experience maintaining telecommunications systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of telecommunications hardware and software systems, networks, and telecommunications equipment infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) codes and standards.
- Knowledge of County safety policies and procedures and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Skill in using basic tools, equipment, and procedures for repairing telecommunications systems and components.
- Skill in assessing, analyzing, identifying, and implementing solutions to technical problems.
- Skill in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and interpreting technical instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the ability to balance, climb, crawl, finger, handle, perform repetitive motion, hear, speak, operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
