I.
General Duties:


Duties generally include but are not limited to the following:

  • Forecasts growth, plans additions, removals and rearrangements and technological transitions for the INE disciplines.
  • Designs and issues work orders, specifications and related documents for all projects and jobs.
  • Coordinates projects from project conception to project installation reviews.
  • Represents the Network Deployment group and serves as a recourse inter-company and intra-company.
  • Establishes capital expenditures requirements for planning period, monitors actuals and adjusts budgets levels as required.
  • Utilizes various mechanized systems to determine network maintenance, growth, and new planning needs and to monitor jobs through to completion.

II. Basic Qualifications:


Past Experience:

  • Telecommunications Specialist-Trunking, Planning, Toll Equipment
  • Telecommunications Specialist-Comm Sts Planning & Emergency-INE
  • Telecommunications Specialist-Switching


OR

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline, i.e. Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering Technology and Engineering Science is required.
  • All Engineering disciplines that are accepted should have CORE courses in Calculus, Physic, Chemistry, Computer Science and/or technical courses that require analysis and problem resolution.
  • For employees on the Engineering Assistant, Network Tech-Electronic, Network Tech Radio- Video Circuit Design Tech-SD, or Technical Analyst—NOC job titles as of January 1, 2000: the following qualifications will be accepted:
  • A two-year Technical Engineering Degree including an Associate Degree in Telecommunications via the internet from PACE University, plus 36 months of satisfactory job performance as an Engineering Assistant, Network Tech-Electronic, Network Tech Radio-Video Circuit Design Tech- SD, or Technical Analyst—NOC.
  • Any four-year Bachelor’s Degree plus 36 months of satisfactory job performance as an Engineering Assistant, Network Tech-Electronic, Network Tech Radio-Video Circuit Design Tech- SD, or Technical Analyst—NOC
  • Candidates for this position are required to provide official verification of educational (transcripts, certifications, licenses, or military records) Candidates must submit the required documentation with Transfer Request.

Specifics:


  • 37 ½ hours per week
  • Generally scheduled between 8:00 M. and 5:00 P.M. with 1/2 hour to 1-hour lunch.
  • Company Driving Certificate required.
  • Overtime as required.

  • Vendors/Bellcore technical courses/seminars, basic traffic concepts, digital technology. Engineering Fundamentals (180 hours), data base training.

  • Office environment with occasional travel required.
  • Required to make field visits and wear safety glasses and bard hats when required.
