Put your mad skills in IT to work by joining an industry leader in the telecommunications industry. Our Telecommunications Technician works with VoIP phone systems, installing, updating, and keeping them running smoothly, as well as handling adds, moves, and changes to existing phone systems.

Techs require a valid driver’s license with good driving record, stable work history, and neat appearance with the ability to interact with customers on a professional level. They must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to complete jobs on time and on budget along with high regard for quality and customer satisfaction. Rare short-term and over-night travel may be required. All travel expenses paid.

Requirements:

Associates Degree in Networking Technology, Computer Information Technology, or similar.

Knowledge:

TCP/IP addressing and subnetting
LAN/WAN setup
Cat 5 & 6 low voltage & fiber optic cabling
Routers/Switches

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Installs telecommunications equipment including: phone systems, servers, routers, and switches.
• Maintains telecommunications equipment including: add, moves, and changes for clients/ customers.
• Diagnoses equipment malfunctions.
• Repairs or replaces equipment as needed.
• Verify all systems in Maintenance are up-to-date and verify software release notes for all systems prior to upgrades checking for major changes that may affect the customer.
• Training of end users on use of telecommunications equipment.
• Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.

• Participates in educational opportunities, which include technical training and

Certification renewals.

• Assists with Special Systems installs on an as-needed basis.
• Assists with cable installation on an as-needed basis.

Starting Pay: $15 – Higher dependent on experience/degree.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $24.00 per hour
