Tower Tech – Top Hand
Strata is a fun, high energy telecommunications installation company. We have industry experience that started in 1993. We enjoy what we do and are currently looking for Top Hand’s with two years + experience as well as motivated individuals just looking to get into the industry in the Spokane area. Candidates must be able to follow safety and working instructions, organize and track their time so they are as proficient as possible and must be able and willing to climb all tower structures with the necessary equipment to get the job completed (ropes, tools, get rigging, etc.) while working at heights up to 300 feet.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in work performed by tower/equipment crewmembers.
- Strictly adhere to safety and quality guidelines.
- Safely and efficiently, complete repairs and installation at elevated heights. Equipment involved will be mounted on various structures which include but are not limited to guyed towers, monopoles, lattice towers, stealth towers, monopoles and rooftops.
- Verify that JHA (Job Hazard Assessment) requirements are identified and documented.
- Identify step by step actions to be taken and documented in the MOP (Method of Procedure).
- Help to track and document job cost (hours and materials).
- Have the ability to read and follow customer drawings, RFDS and the Scope of Work (SOW).
- Help in performing all sweep, PIM, fiber testing as well as gathering all closeout documentation.
- Installation of RRU/RRH’s, Hybrid cables, OVP’s, antennas, new steel, concrete/rebar, landscaping, fencing, testing of equipment, troubleshooting and replacing faulty equipment as well as other duties assigned on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to learn to perform pre and post site audits
- Once trained, must be able and willing to perform climber rescue if ever required.
Qualifications:
- Must live in or be willing to re-locate to the Spokane area.
- Must have an upbeat attitude and the ability to have a little fun while working!!!
- Must be 21 with a valid driver’s license and no driving violations in the past 3 years.
- Take and pass pre-employment background check and drug testing.
- Must be willing to work outside of Spokane market, if needed.
- Must have the ability to be a “self-starter” and able to work independently without supervision.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills.
- Must have reliable personal transportation to get to the office for work and arrive on time.
- Most work will be performed during normal business hours Monday – Friday but may
Include some nights, weekends as well as out of town jobs as required.
- If you have an issue with heights, this job is probably not for you as around 80% of work is done at heights.
Technical Requirements a plus but not needed:
- Prior climbing, knowledge of carrier equipment, working at heights and knowing how to proficiently use hand tools.
- Verizon, T Mobile, Dish, Microwave equipment experience.
- New builds, colocation and civil wireless construction experience a plus.
Certifications a plus if already obtained:
- OSHA 30
- Climb and Rescue
- PIM, Sweep and Fiber testing
- CPR/First Aid
- RF Safety Awareness
- Rigging Cert
- Man lift Cert
But we will pay for certification renewal or certifications needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb 300+ foot structures while carrying the necessary equipment to get the job completed (ropes, tools, rigging, etc.).
- Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 70 lbs. throughout the workday.
- Working at heights from structures and platforms such as ladders, man-lifts, boom trucks and cranes.
- Ability to see and distinguish colors.
- Ability to perform all job requirements in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in remote and challenging locations including but not limited to: confined spaces, rooftops and various geographical locations.
