As a Telecommunications Voice Engineer in Workplace Services, you will utilize your experience and knowledge of network and telecommunications systems/infrastructure to build and integrate infrastructure solutions in support of expanding and evolving Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), Wireless Networks and Voice/VoIP Infrastructure hardware and technology. This position will focus on delivering network infrastructure solutions to our businesses, programs, and the enterprise. This position is hands on and requires cross functional framework collaboration while remaining focused on target initiatives and deliverables. The candidate will possess strong technical skills focused on infrastructure build and integration. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining documentation, diagrams, change control processes, infrastructure build delivery designs and ensuring the environments are within RTX compliance mandates.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Installs, configures, builds, and maintains network/voice devices and components. Participates in researching, defining, and testing next generation infrastructure components.

Troubleshoots network/voice issues in support of our partners and in alignment with businesses, programs, and the enterprise at a tier 4 level

Aligns with network/voice architecture in design, feasibility, and cost studies. Collaborates with network architecture on network optimization.

Implements new solutions per architecture design in support of Corporate and BU initiatives

Develops play/run books to support transition of services to Network Operations/NOC for on-going “Day 2” support Performs network traffic analysis and recommends upgrades or configuration changes

Reconfigures and upgrades network elements, systems, and facilities in support of network compliance and business requirements

Responsible for cross functional and partner collaboration within network/voice troubleshooting, fault detection, isolation, repair, and restoration for one or more Business Units

Defines, documents, and enforces standards

Prepares network documentation, technical papers and reports as required

Secures network systems by establishing and enforcing policies while defining and monitoring access

Availability to provide On Call support out of normal working hours on a rotational basis

Preferred Qualifications

Full understanding of Cisco CUCM and all associated components (i.e., CER, IM&P, CUC, etc.)

Full understanding of Cisco Jabber, Expressway MRA

Configuration knowledge of VMWare, vSphere

Centralized SIP Trunking – CUBE or Oracle SBCs

Understanding of PSTN connectivity (TDM, SIP).

Technically skilled in E164/E911 strategies, best practices and implementation experiences

Minimum of five (5) years VoIP engineering experience working in a large enterprise environment

Analytical skills – diagnosing problems and defining root cause analysis

Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and ability to work in a team, cross framework collaborative environment

Cisco certifications or equivalent industry certifications

Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex, dynamic environments where agile was applied at scale

Excellent decision making and critical-thinking skills

Ability to learn and support new technologies and train others

Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude

Outstanding organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

VMware VCDX-DCV, VCDX-NV, and/or VCDX-CMA certification(s).

Education:

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
