Test Engineering Technician

Working as a Test Engineering Technician at our Kirkland office, your role is to collaborate with the Design Engineers and the Test Engineering Lead to support the effort in the development of the 28G optical transceiver platform. You will participate in testing and optimizing of optical transceivers, in designing new test fixtures, in developing test methodology and protocol, in automating test, in producing reports, and in performing preliminary data analysis. You will also get involved in the design, installation, documentation, deployment, transfer, and training of test stations for the production floor. Support of production test technicians and operators in collaboration with the Test Engineering Lead will also be essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

Implement and operate engineering electro-optical test and/or evaluation setups

Perform tests as needed by various product development projects

Summarize and synthesis measured data

Participate in the creation of test methodology and protocol

Document and analyze test results

Document test procedures and test stations

Participate in the development and deployment of test stations

Participate in engineering design reviews

Develop scripts to automate data capture and analysis

Support production test technicians and operators

Maintain and repair Engineering test equipment

The Individual

A DEC in Physics Technology, Electronics, or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience in high tech product development

Autonomous, energetic, team player and a good problem solver

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and change priorities

Ability to synthesize data and communicate results efficiently

Python scripting

Demonstrated leadership

Experience with high speed electro-optical testing, sampling scopes, signal generators, BER, optical attenuators, switches

Some knowledge, experience with optical transceivers and optical telecommunication test protocol would be a great asset
